The Spanish paper industry , leader of the E.U. in recycling.

The Spanish paper industry is at the top of the countries of the European Union in the use of the recovered paper ous raw material : 81 % of the raw material used by de paper industry in Spain is recovered paper.

Paper collection, that has experienced great developement in the last few years, is still insufficient to take care of the increasing capacity for recycling of the Spanish paper and board industry , which at the moment is able to abgonb 25 kg more of recovered paper per inhabitant (an amout which at the moment is forced to import).

Of the 161 kg of paper consumed per inhabitant , 74 kg is recovered for recycling. The rate (collection of recovered paper expressed in % over the comsumption of paper and board) adds up to 46 % , whith places us as the 8th country of the EU in collection of recovered paper.

DO YOU WANT TO SAVE THE WORLD ?
START SAVING PAPER.

1. Write on both sides of every piece of paper
2. Don´t throw paper away . Find some where you can take it to be recycled.
3. Avoid innecesary packaging.
4. Make only the indispinsable photocopies.
5. Refuse pamphelts, don´t you need.
6. Don´t waste paper. Refuse it.

REASONS TO RECYCLE PAPER:

· Reduce the consumption of raw matrerials, water, energy and importation of wood.
· Reduce the rubbish (20 % of our rubbish is paper and board) and the pollution of the environment.
· Increase the citezen contribution to solve environmental problems.
· Create jobs-

HOW TO RECYCLE PAPER AT HOME

You need :
1. Two wooden plates (20 x 25 mm)
2. Two wooden frames.
3. Nylon net to cover one of the frames.
4. White glue.
5. Six pieces of felt.
6. A container to put the frames.
7. A mixer.
8. A rolling pin.

HOW TO DO IT :

1. Leave to soak 80 gr of newspaper or old paper during two hours.
2. Drip it and divide it into four parts.
3. Mi each one with a litre of water and mix with the mixer.
4. Add 2 litresof hot water to the paste and two spoonfuls of white glue and mix until the mixture is smooth.

5. Pour six litres of hot water into a container and add halft of the mixture abore.
6. Put the empty frame on the net frame and
introduce them into the co ntainer

.

7. Get the frames and drip them for a while.

8. Relase the empty frame and overturn the other or a piece of felt that would be on a wooden plate.

9. Press to stick the piece of paper on the felt and release the net frame slowly.

10. As you made pieces of paper you add paste to container.
11. When you finish all the paste put the other wooden plate on the pile and press down.

12. Remove the pieces of the paper one by one and leave to dry.
13. When they are half - dried, pass the rolling - pin to smooth them.

14.- AND THE PAPER IS MADE !!!
